I am taking a red-eye tonight to the east coast. Amidst the high fuel prices I have all but given up any choice for airline and am just taking whatever airline is the cheapest. Tonight, that means Continental. I can’t tell you how much I despise Continental. It’s been a long time since I have flown them…for good reason. I am a tall guy, and I think even Shawn Johnson would have a tough time fitting in there.
This is going to be especially tough as I have grown to absolutely love Southwest. They make it so darn easy to fly. No change fees. They pay no attention to FCC regulations. Plus, you don’t have to worry about picking your seat. I love it.
Anyhow, wish me luck.
This is from Techcrunch: Does Google Have An Organic Growth Problem?
I personally see this article as somewhat ridiculous. It challenges the strength of Google’s revenue growth by pointing out how organic revenue growth has slowed over the last year. A couple of points that are missed:
1) When you are growing at 50% per quarter, your TOTAL REVENUE is growing alot. That means to maintain another quarter of 50% growth, you need to more than double your business every half year. So, if in Q1 you had revenues of $100M in Q3 you need to have revenues of $225M. That is crazy.
2) How does any company go organically at a 30%+ rate when you are as big as google? They are not a start-up anymore.
Anyhow, that’s my two-cents. I personally love Google’s products. I do find it annoying when they launch a new product and take out any incumbents (e.g., knol.com), but I still love their products all the same.
